Unwanted Contact.

Even if you have requested NO CONTACT on your resignation letter, your local Bishop, Stake President, Home Teachers, Visiting Teachers, Relief Society President, etc, etc, may try to contact you.

You may be "love bombed" (the act of anonymously placing food (cookies, cakes, etc) on your doorstep with notes stating you are loved), have letters written to you through the postal service - all in attempts to have you come back.

You will be told how much you are loved, how much you are missed. If you have been Mormon for any period of time, realize that these members cannot fathom why you are leaving. They will see that your mortal soul is in danger. They may also begin to gossip that you are resigning because you either cannot handle being a "Latter-Day Saint", have "sinned" (generally adultery or fornication will be assumed), or you are being willfully disobedient against God.

Be prepared for this. You can either ask them to mind their business, or you can create your own statement to read them. Realize anything you say that is against the Church, its doctrine or its leaders will be considered "Anti-Mormon" and you will either be ignored or your information not processed.
